Introduction Our client is a well-established service provider to the earthmoving and mining industries, renowned for delivering exceptional maintenance and repair solutions. They are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Manager to lead their workshop operations.
This role is ideal for a technically strong leader with extensive experience on yellow and white metal equipment, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading a high-performing workshop team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Plan and schedule machine servicing, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and workshop projects. Oversee the repair, refurbishment and maintenance of plant equipment brought into the workshop by customers. Diagnose complex mechanical faults and provide technical support to artisans and technicians during major breakdowns. Ensure the correct spare parts are identified, ordered and available for planned maintenance and emergency repairs. Liaise closely with the procurement department to expedite critical parts and minimise equipment downtime. Monitor and update daily machine availability and workshop performance on the company system.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Relevant Tertiary Engineering qualification. 4–6 years' experience in a Workshop Manager or similar leadership role. Minimum of 7 years' hands-on technical experience working on yellow and white metal equipment.\ Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities on heavy mobile equipment. Excellent planning, leadership and organisational skills. Experience managing workshop teams, budgets and maintenance schedules.
Package & Remuneration R900 000 CTC - R1.2 million CTC (Negotiable depending on experience)
