Trade Tested Fitter - Fixed-Term Project Contract (15-20 Days)

Introduction Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Trade Tested Fitter to join a short-term project based in Boksburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance, and assembly work while ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

This opportunity is ideally suited to candidates residing within the East Rand area who are available to work on a short-term project.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform mechanical fitting, installation, and assembly of industrial equipment Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Install, align, and commission mechanical equipment Carry out preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults efficiently Assemble and install machinery and production equipment Ensure all work complies with engineering standards and project specifications Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition Complete job cards and related project documentation accurately Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements Work effectively with supervisors, engineers, and fellow tradesmen to meet project deadlines

Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric Trade Test Certificate – Fitter (Essential) Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Strong mechanical fault-finding and fitting skills Experience with installation, maintenance, and mechanical assembly Valid driver's licence advantageous

Experience working on shutdowns or project-based installations Experience within manufacturing, heavy engineering, or industrial plants Rigging or lifting equipment experience advantageous Working at heights or confined space certification advantageous

Location Requirements

Site based in Boksburg, Gauteng Candidates must reside within the East Rand area Must be able to travel to and from site daily
