Introduction Our client is seeking an Expert Test Analyst to join a Software Engineering team at the Group IT Hub South Africa, delivering IT solutions to the global Group.

This role focuses on driving test automation and quality assurance for complex finance and accounting systems, with ownership of test case design, execution, and continuous improvement of automated test processes across Sub-Products.

Test Automation Depth: Lead end-to-end automation of manual test cases using TOSCA, with ongoing documentation and maintenance of scripts, data, and protocols. Subject Matter Expertise: Apply deep accounting and SAP Finance knowledge to solve escalated testing challenges and guide lower-level team members on best practices. Cross-Functional Delivery: Coordinate with business departments, IT counterparts, and other testers to gather requirements, define data extractors, and align test automation across Products and Sub-Products.

Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:

Test Execution: Responsible for running the tests, creating, and maintaining test scripts and data, and identifying and documenting bugs Automation Governance: Ensures that the test automation process is documented and updated continuously Process Analysis: Performs analysis of test processes and selects appropriate test cases for automation Manual to Automated: Mitigates manual test cases to automated test cases Test Case Maintenance: Documents & maintains automated test cases continuously Data Coordination: Gathers test data from respective business departments and can define requirements of the data extractors for DevOps Analysis & Action: Executes the manual and automated test cases within the Sub-Products and analyses the test protocols and defines relevant actions Team Enablement: Assist in training other team members in test automation Test Planning: Participates in the test planning and supports the test manager & other Sub-Product team members with automated test cases as much as possible Cross-Product Alignment: Supports the test manager by coordinating Test automation with other Products or Sub-Product

Who This Role Would Suit:

You are a financesavvy testing professional with at least 2 years’ experience in business analysis and test management, holding a BCOM in Accounting and/or Information Systems and ISTQB certification. Your hands-on expertise with TOSCA, JIRA, and SAP FICO front-end processes allows you to move confidently from manual to automated testing, ensuring complex financial systems meet required standards.

Your working style is collaborative and influential. You negotiate and compromise effectively with local and international counterparts, coordinate across business and IT teams, and provide guidance to less experienced testers. 

You thrive in complex environments that require integrating multiple systems, and you’re comfortable solving escalated tasks without deferring to a higher authority.

What matters most in this role is the blend of technical test automation rigor with deep accounting knowledge. 

You’re expected to act as a bestpractice leader for testing within your domain, driving quality and efficiency across global systems. 

The most essential trait is your ability to own complex problemsolving in finance system testing while enabling others through clear documentation and training.

Desired Experience & Qualification Qualifications & Experience:

BCOM in either Accounting and/or Information Systems (minimum) ISTQB certification Tricentis Tosca certification (Advantageous but not required) 2+ years’ experience in business analysis and test management

Domain & Tools Knowledge:

In-depth Process & Accounting Knowledge Strong business acumen & financial accounting background SAP Finance (FICO front-end user experience) Work experience within accounting and finance integration Strong IT knowledge and practical experience

Collaboration & Ways of Working:

Able to coordinate business counterparts, IT counterparts & other testers Can communicate influentially and articulately with local and international counterparts Agile methodology experience Assist in training other team members in test automation

Advantageous Skills:

German speaking (plus but not necessity) SAP Finance back-end/programming experience (plus, not necessity)
