Introduction We are currently preparing a tender submission for a major project within the Power Generation sector and are seeking experienced Contract Managers who would be interested in a potential four-year contract opportunity.
The purpose of this is to provide structured and proactive contract management support across power generation projects, ensuring that contractual obligations are fulfilled efficiently, risks are effectively managed, and commercial outcomes are optimised. The role plays a critical part in safeguarding organisational interests while fostering strong and sustainable stakeholder relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive Project Management services, leading the planning, coordination, and execution of complex power generation projects to ensure successful delivery within approved timeframes, budgets, and quality standards. Strategic Project Planning & Delivery – Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and stakeholder expectations. Schedule & Time Management – Develop and manage detailed project schedules to ensure timely completion of milestones and overall project delivery. Cost & Budget Control – Monitor and control project expenditure, ensuring effective financial management and value optimisation. Quality Assurance – Implement and maintain quality management processes to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and industry standards. Risk & Issue Management – Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while proactively managing issues to minimise impact. Stakeholder & Team Coordination – Lead multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors, fostering collaboration and clear communication across all project interfaces. Performance Monitoring & Reporting – Track project performance against agreed KPIs, providing regular reporting to senior management and key stakeholders. Change Management – Manage scope changes in accordance with contractual frameworks and governance requirements. Project Governance & Documentation – Ensure accurate documentation, compliance, and knowledge transfer throughout the project lifecycle.
Desired Experience & Qualification REQUIREMENTS:
Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma (NQF Level 8) in a relevant field. Professional registration with the applicable regulatory or professional body. 8–10 years’ proven experience in Project Management within the power generation or heavy industrial sector. Previous experience working on a Nuclear Power Plant project. Sound knowledge and practical application of FIDIC and NEC contract suites.
