Introduction We are urgently seeking experienced Structural / Civil Engineers with strong experience in structural work within the mining environment. The successful candidates will be based at a mine in Hotazel, Northern Cape, and will be responsible for ensuring that structural designs, assessments, and engineering solutions meet safety, quality, and operational standards within the mining operation.
This is a 3-month contract position, with the possibility of an extension depending on project requirements and performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design, review, and assess structural engineering solutions for mining infrastructure. Conduct structural inspections and assessments of existing structures within the mining environment. Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and mining requirements. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and engineering documentation. Work closely with project teams, site personnel, and other engineering disciplines. Provide technical guidance and support during construction or modification of structures. Identify risks and provide solutions to maintain structural integrity and safety on site.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural engineering within the mining environment. Proven experience working with mining-related structures and infrastructure. Strong knowledge of structural design principles, safety standards, and engineering best practices. Ability to work on-site in a mining environment. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
