SHE Specialist (2-year contract)

Reference: DUR003521-NA-1A leading national automotive manufacturing company is seeking an experienced SHE Specialist to join their team on a 2-year contract. This role is responsible for planning, leading and managing the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) function across multiple manufacturing and operational sites, ensuring legislative compliance, risk reduction and continuous improvement of SHE performance nationally. Duties & Responsibilities Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Safety Management. Environmental Health and Safety qualification. SAMTRAC or equivalent Safety Certification. ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Internal Auditor Certification. Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a SHE Specialist or similar role. Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience within the Manufacturing and/or Automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the implementation of SHE strategies and operational plans. Ensure compliance with OHS Act, NEMA, ISO standards and all applicable SHE legislation. Manage and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and certifications. Lead internal and external SHE audits, legal compliance audits and management reviews. Conduct risk assessments, environmental impact studies and hazard identification programmes. Manage SHE policies, procedures, protocols and related documentation. Lead incident and accident investigations, implementing corrective and preventative actions. Support, coach and develop Plant SHE Coordinators. Manage emergency preparedness, response plans and emergency drills. Monitor SHE performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operations.
