Introduction The position is responsible for managing the agency’s daily travel operations and overseeing the performance of all travel consultants. This includes coordinating, guiding, and supporting consultants to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS
Ensure that all approved travel forms are obtained before releasing travel documents as per the approved travel management practice. To provide quality and accurate completion of domestic and international travel bookings including issue-in-exchange and all other administrative responsibilities within the expected timeframe. Maintain the up- to -date information on the travel operations by forwarding updated information from airlines/hotels/car rental companies to junior and intermediate consultants. Ensure that BARs & PARs are up-dated on an on-going basis. Guiding and assisting Junior Travel Consultants within the team with problems and queries. Ensuring that queues are cleared on a daily basis Daily printing of TINS and Cash-up reports Responsible for dedicated account/s and take control of the full span of travel activities e.g., from request until final accurate invoicing. Respond to all relevant calls and action email correspondence with customers within the required timeframe. Investigate ADM’s and provide the BSP Officer an explanation for each one, when required. Process all travel requirements according to the travel management practises and adhere to terms and conditions set by the travel industry regarding their products. Make prompt decisions on behalf of the customers to his advantage e.g., cost effective available flights subject to approval of the client. Assist with visa information; applications and health requirements. Collect all money outstanding on COD tickets. Ensure and assist manager on the operational budget e.g., no overspending. Provide information, advice and booking services for corporate and defence industry clients. Communicate cheerfully with customers and to convey a positive attitude, both by telephone and where required in face-to-face meetings. Handle complex airfares, issue-in-exchange and sound knowledge of global geography. Mentor Junior Travel Consultants on their daily tasks as well as in-house training on the available reservations systems. Approve and check the work of Junior Travel Consultants.

Desired Experience & Qualification QUALIFICATION
Grade 12. A National Diploma in Tourism or related field. International fares and ticketing certificates will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Travel Consultant or within a travel agency environment. Proven experience in handling end-to-end travel bookings (flights, accommodation, visas, insurance, and itineraries). Demonstrated ability to manage corporate, government, or high-volume client accounts is advantageous.
