Introduction To lead development of baseline schedule and gathering actual data to update progress on the project schedule and develop reliable forecasts, to support the project manager, as well as to recommend and implement modifications to improve effectiveness and attain project milestones.
Duties & Responsibilities
Completes Project/Package contractual schedules on time through iterative review of schedule logic and identification of risks and opportunities to the project schedule. Reduces cost through effective evaluation and approval of contractors' claims for extension of time. Increases Project Team's awareness of key project milestone dates and potential risks which can prevent the achievement of such milestones. Educates the Project Team regarding the impact of delays on tasks which are on the critical path of a project schedule. Improves production by highlighting planned construction activities and milestones to construction crews and impact of their good/poor performance on the production profile. Ensures effective schedule management by ensuring all schedules are developed to the minimum requirements as required by the Impala Schedule Management Standard. Ensures that a sound Procurement Operating Plan is in place to guide the Foreman/Project Manager on a late start date for procuring long lead items to be free issued to the Contractor.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 or NQF 4 Equivalent Civil Engineering/Quantity Surveying/Construction Management Diploma/Degree Professional registration with a Project Scheduling/Project Management body Project Management/Project Scheduling Course 5-10 years scheduling experience in Construction/Mining Industry Project Planning/Scheduling MS Projects/Primavera Evaluating Claims for Extension of Time Baseline Revision Change Control
