Senior Project Manager - Enterprise Systems Integration (CONTRACT)

Description Job PurposeTo lead the end-to-end delivery of a strategic Enterprise Commercial Systems Integration Programme, ensuring successful implementation of a new enterprise business platform that supports critical retail business operations.The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a complex business and technology IT programme involving multiple business units, enterprise applications and third-party implementation partners. The role requires exceptional leadership, commercial acumen and programme delivery expertise to successfully manage business transformation, enterprise systems integration and organisational change.The Senior Project Manager will confidently engage with Executive Leadership, C-Suite stakeholders, business leaders, technical teams and external implementation partners to ensure successful programme delivery within agreed scope, budget and timelines. Key AccountabilitiesProject Delivery & GovernanceLead the end-to-end delivery of a complex Enterprise Systems Integration Programme from initiation through to Hypercare and project closure.Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, resource plans and delivery roadmaps.Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, issues and dependencies.Ensure compliance with PMO governance standards, project lifecycle methodology and Stage Gate approvals.Lead Steering Committee meetings, Executive Governance Forums and Programme Reviews.Drive successful delivery across Discovery, Design, Build, Integration, Testing, Deployment and Operational Readiness. Enterprise Systems IntegrationLead the delivery of a complex enterprise business systems implementation.Manage multiple business and technology workstreams across the programme.Coordinate integration across enterprise applications, financial systems, merchandising, procurement and other business platforms.Work closely with Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architects, Technical Leads and implementation partners.Manage data migration, systems integration, testing, deployment planning and production readiness.Ensure seamless transition into Business-as-Usual operations. Financial, Commercial & Vendor ManagementManage programme budgets, forecasts and financial reporting.Drive financial governance and expenditure management.Manage commercial relationships with implementation partners and third-party vendors.Oversee contract performance, delivery milestones and commercial obligations.Support business case management, financial forecasting and benefits realisation.Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies. Executive Stakeholder ManagementBuild trusted relationships with Executive Leadership and senior business stakeholders.Present programme updates to Executive Committees and Steering Committees.Provide strategic advice and recommendations on programme delivery.Manage stakeholder expectations and competing business priorities.Facilitate executive decision-making throughout the programme lifecycle. Reporting & ControlsProduce Executive dashboards and programme status reports.Maintain RAID Logs, Decision Logs and Action Registers.Monitor project performance against schedule, budget and quality objectives.Ensure timely escalation of critical risks and issues.Support PMO assurance reviews, governance and audit activities. LeadershipLead multidisciplinary Business and IT delivery teams.Coordinate Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, Test Managers, Change Managers and external partners.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and delivery excellence.Mentor project team members and promote PMO best practices.·          Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in information technology, Commerce, Business Management, Engineering or related discipline.PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent Project Management certification (Essential).Programme Management certification (MSP, PgMP or equivalent) advantageous.Agile certification advantageous. Minimum ExperienceMinimum 7+ years' experience managing complex Business and IT transformation programmes.Proven track record of successfully delivering enterprise-wide systems implementations from initiation through to production deployment.Demonstrated expertise in complex enterprise systems integration, including multiple application and vendor integrations.Strong experience delivering projects across Financial, Commercial, Merchandising or Retail business domains.Retail industry experience is highly advantageous.Proven experience managing third-party implementation partners, system integrators and software vendors.Experience managing multi-million Rand project budgets, commercial governance and financial reporting.Proven ability to engage and influence Executive Leadership, C-Suite stakeholders and technical delivery teams.Experience leading multidisciplinary business and IT teams within a structured PMO governance environment. Knowledge &
