Lead a High-Stakes Defensible Control Assurance Project
Sapientis is recruiting for Senior Internal Auditors for an intensive 6-month contracts with major, tier-one mining houses. These projects focus on the execution phase of comprehensive Protection Services / Security Audit Programmes.
We are looking for seasoned assurance professionals who can navigate a mature, six-pillar audit framework. Your role will be to lead field investigations, validate objective evidence on the ground, and deliver highly defensible, executive-level audit reports that prove whether critical safety and security controls are effective in practice - not just on paper
Key Responsibilities:
Field Leadership: Manage physical, site-based audit verifications across mining operations in various locations. Control Defensibility: Design and execute advanced control testing methodologies to validate live evidence. Exco Reporting: Compile structured, iron-clad audit reports, present strategic findings, and handle risk-closure verifications. Timeline Oversight: Manage your deliverables tightly across the 6-month roadmap (Month 1: Vetting/Access; Months 2–5: Fieldwork; Months 5–6: Closeout).
Requirements:
Education: BCom Internal Audit, CIA, or a related high-level risk qualification. Experience: 7+ years of robust internal audit, forensic audit, or risk assurance experience. Industry Track Record: Prior experience auditing within heavy industrial or mining operations is essential. The X-Factor: Practical experience in corporate asset protection, security operations, or physical risk infrastructure is highly advantageous. Logistics: Valid driver’s license, reliable transport, and full mobility across designated sites either in the North West and/or Gauteng mine sites. Must pass stringent security screening.
