Introduction Losika Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst / Process Engineer for a 6-month contract within a complex, regulated financial services environment.
This role requires a mature, delivery-focused professional who is comfortable operating independently, managing senior stakeholders, and owning workstreams end-to-end.
The role is based in Sandton, Johannesburg and it is a on-site role.
This role is not suitable for junior or developing Process Analysts and/or Business Analysts. Only candidates with clear seniority, depth of experience within Process Engineering and Business Analysis, and strong stakeholder leadership should apply.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end business analysis and process engineering initiatives in complex environments Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business, functional, and process requirements Conduct AS-IS and TO-BE process modelling and identify optimisation and automation opportunities Facilitate and confidently manage senior stakeholder engagements, workshops, and decision forums Translate business needs into clear, high-quality documentation (BRDs, process models, user stories, solution proposals) Work closely with technology teams to support Agile delivery, backlog refinement, and implementation Take full ownership of deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and quality of output Operate with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong self-management and accountability Support change, testing, and implementation readiness where required
Desired Experience & Qualification
10+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst and/or Process Engineer in large, structured organisations Proven experience in financial services or banking environments (highly advantageous) Strong process engineering capability (AS-IS / TO-BE, BPMN, enterprise process thinking) Excellent business analysis fundamentals (requirements elicitation, documentation, stakeholder validation) Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes with confidence and maturity Experience working in Agile and hybrid delivery environments Strong written and verbal communication skills – able to engage at senior management level High levels of professional maturity, judgement, and resilience

Qualifications & Formal Training (Mandatory)
Tertiary Qualification (Required)
A completed university degree in one of the following:
Information Systems Computer Science Industrial Engineering Business Informatics Engineering (IT / Systems / Industrial) Or a closely related discipline
Diplomas without a completed degree will not be sufficient on their own for this role.
Professional Certifications & Formal Training (Required)
Candidates must have formal training and/or certification in both Business Analysis AND Process Engineering, including:
Business Analysis
BABOK-aligned Business Analysis certification or training, such as:
IIBA (ECBA / CCBA / CBAP) FTI Business Analysis Certification BCS Business Analysis Certification Demonstrated application of:
Requirements elicitation & validation BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria Stakeholder facilitation and governance
Process Engineering / Process Modelling
Formal training and practical experience in process modelling, including:
BPMN 2.0 ARIS (mandatory) AS-IS / TO-BE modelling Enterprise process thinking
Methodologies & Delivery Frameworks (Required)
Agile delivery experience with formal training in one or more of:
Scrum SAFe Agile Business Analysis Strong understanding of SDLC (Agile and Hybrid environments)
Continuous Improvement & Optimisation (Highly Advantageous)
Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher preferred) Experience applying:
Root cause analysis Process optimisation Operational efficiency improvements
Tooling & Practical Application (Required)
Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience with:
ARIS (non-negotiable) JIRA (user stories, backlog refinement) Visio or equivalent modelling tools Documentation standards aligned to regulated environments
Additional Expectations
Qualifications must be supported by real, senior-level delivery experience Certification without demonstrable application will not be sufficient Candidates must show evidence of:
Independent ownership of workstreams Senior stakeholder engagement Decision-making authority and professional maturity
Package & Remuneration Contract Rate and 160 hours per month - R500 - R680 per hour.
