Introduction Our client is seeking a Senior SAP Authorisation Analyst to join a high-impact DevOps team at the Group IT Hub South Africa, delivering IT solutions to the global Group.
This is a senior engineering role focused on high-level role design and security architecture within the Finance and Controlling (FICO) domain.
Unlike standard support roles, this position focuses on the technical engineering of permissions and does not involve user-facing support or auditing.
Technical Profile & Mastery
SAP Authorisation Mastery: 6–10 years of deep SAP Authorisation experience across complex global landscapes. FICO Specialization: Extensive hands-on experience with SAP FICO role design is an absolute must-have. S/4 HANA & Fiori: Proven technical proficiency with SAP S/4 HANA, Fiori Launchpad, and Fiori Administration. Analytical Depth: Advanced MS Excel skills with strong formula knowledge for data analysis and role mapping. Project Record: Proven track record across at least 3 full project implementations, working independently to design governance-compliant roles.

Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Role Architecture: Design and implement complex role changes and new security structures for global project releases. Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve high-level authorisation issues and compliance conflicts. Security Enforcement: Enforce SAP security and development guidelines to ensure governance-compliant role design. Engineering Focus: Deliver technical authorisation support for new project releases within an Agile/DevOps framework. Compliance: Mitigate business risk by implementing best practices in SAP authorisation policies across the international landscape.
Desired Experience & Qualification Essential Skills & Technologies
SAP Authorisation across all technical modules. Deep expertise in SAP S/4 HANA and Fiori environments. Strong SAP Trace analysis and troubleshooting. Transport creation with CALM and ITSM change management. Advanced MS Excel for data analysis.
Non-Negotiables & Exclusion Criteria Please note that candidates with the following will not be considered for this specific alignment:
Primary experience in GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) or BI (Business Intelligence). Hana SQL or database-level programming experience. Experience limited to Audit or 1st-line user support (the role is engineering-focused, not user-facing). This senior position focuses on architecture, not day-to-day administration. Please ensure your CV reflects high-level role engineering rather than basic transaction codes (e.g., SuF3, S01, EFCG).
