Introduction Our client is looking for a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to join their high-impact IT Hub.
This role is central to the HR Data Management (MADAM) product, providing critical IT solutions for master data and process management across the entire global workforce.
You will work within a hardened, professional environment to maintain personnel structures and self-service functionalities often linked to the International Process Template (IPT).
As a functional expert, you will be expected to influence change and effect improvement in existing systems through conceptual enhancements. You will operate as a completely independent worker, investigating complex requirements and providing guidance to entry and advanced-level team members.
Technical Excellence & Leadership
HR Mastery: Apply deep SAP ABAP skills with a specific focus on HR modules to ensure the accuracy of company and personnel structures. Modern Integration: Utilize HTTP/Client and ODATA/Webservices to build robust integration layers between varied systems. Front-end Integration: Leverage experience with Fiori and UI5 to design modern user interface elements. System Enhancement: Master standard SAP functionality enhancements using User Exits, BAdIs, and high-level custom enhancements.

Contract Dates: 01-06-2026 to 31-12-2028. Location: Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office Rotation. Level: Senior 6-8 Years related experience Work Arrangement: 1960 hours per 12-month period with high work-life balance and remote/on-site flexibility.
Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Debug and troubleshoot ABAP code resolving coding and performance issues Develop programs, function modules & reports based on functional requirements Enhance standard SAP functionality by utilizing e.g. User Exits, BAdIs, and Enhancements Create interfaces with different integration technologies (ODATA, ALE, file-based and more) Design UI elements with SAP GUI, Web-Dynpro, UI5/Fiori Ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable code Collaborate with functional consultants and stakeholders Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions Create, execute and document unit test cases for your developments in JIRA Document your work in the required format (e.g. interface specification) Follow the Groupts agile working methodology Manage general queries of colleagues and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner

Soft Skills: Proven ability to influence and reach buy-in when navigating difficult or unclear requirements.
Essential Skills & Technologies
Core Development: Proficiency in SAP ABAP, specifically for HR-related applications. Workflow & Integration: Mastery of SAP workflows and integration technologies like ODATA and Webservices. Tools: Routine use of JIRA, xRay, and Confluence within an Agile methodology. Adaptability: Eagerness to learn about new technologies, including AI tools and their application in SAP environments.
Advantageous Skills
Proficiency in the SAP HCM (H4S4) data model. Practical experience with HANA databases and classic integration like IDocs and Flat files. Familiarity with form generation using SAP Script, Smart Forms, or Adobe Forms.
