Introduction PURPOSE:
To coordinate end-to-end project risk management activities for high-value projects.
To ensure risks are documented, assessed, quantified and actively mitigated.
Duties & Responsibilities General Risk Co-Ordination
Schedule and coordinate all risk workshops timeously, ensuring the participation of relevant stakeholders.
Compile and prepare all necessary risk documentation in advance of scheduled workshops.
Maintain the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data capture and reporting.
Distribute updated risk reports and dashboards to stakeholders within agreed timeframes.
Ensure alignment and compliance with the approved Project Risk Management Plan (RMP), addressing and escalating any deviations.
Continuously maintain and update the project risk taxonomy to support accurate and efficient risk identification and categorisation .
Support the development, tracking, and updating of risk treatment plans in collaboration with risk and action owners.
Record and track issues, concerns, and comments from risk owners for follow-up and resolution. Consolidate inputs for and update monthly risk reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Maintain an accurate record of workshop and review discussions to support risk analysis and reporting. • Develop and support the delivery of basic risk awareness and training materials for project stakeholders.
Risk Systems/Application
Capture and register risks identified during workshops or sessions in the RMIS (e.g., SAP GRC). Update existing risks and treatment plans following risk review sessions.
Ensure treatment plans contain adequate detail and justification for changes in due dates, actions, or ownership.
Follow up on outstanding treatment actions with risk owners and update statuses accordingly.
Circulate risk profiles to workshop attendees for review prior to sessions.
Maintain a tracking sheet/log of all project risk reviews and follow-up actions.
Monitor compliance with the RMP by tracking deliverables and status updates
Contractor Risk Management
Schedule and coordinate post-award contractor risk training sessions.
Deliver or facilitate contractor risk training and onboarding into the project risk process.
Send reminders to contractors regarding the submission deadlines for risk registers.
Receive, log, and track submitted contractor risk registers.
Report on contractor compliance: submission timelines, completeness, and quality of submissions. Review contractor risk registers for alignment with the risk breakdown structure and relevance of risks. Assess the appropriateness of treatment plans in relation to causes, drivers, and potential impacts. Provide quality review feedback to contractors and track follow-up actions or resubmissions.
Escalate risks identified in contractor registers that may materially impact the project to the Risk Specialist.
Capture significant contractor risks into SAP GRC or the appropriate system for monitoring and reporting.
Prepare for contractor progress and risk meetings by reviewing schedule and cost data to identify emerging risks.
General Administration
Attend and provide feedback from project progress meetings to the Risk Specialist.
Support ad-hoc administrative requests related to project and risk coordination.
Maintain and update Teams daily diaries, shared calendars, or collaboration platforms.
Track receipt and status of critical documents and deliverables related to risk management.
Ensure all supporting records and risk documentation are filed in an organised and accessible manner

Desired Experience & Qualification
Experience as Risk Practitioner/Coordinator within large-scale infrastructure and mining projects
SAP GRC knowledge
3-5 years work experience
