The unit also assists in identifying national and international funding opportunities to increase the University's external research income. In addition, it manages excellence programmes, including the National Research Foundation (NRF)'s evaluation and rating system. Responsibilities: Identification of external funding opportunitiesManagement of NRF evaluation and rating system applications and related processesManage the NRF Thematic Grants Programme (from concept note to full proposal submission) and the FBIP funding programme, providing strategic and administrative support through the application processScreening of proposals for completeness and adherence to the criteria of the CallsManagement of the calls for funding proposalsLiaising with external stakeholders such as fundersArrange briefing sessions focusing on various research support initiatives such as funding proposal applications, etcTo manage the pre–award and post–award funding processesProper analyses of data received from funding applicationsOversee the management and implementation of the UCDP grant and its associated activitiesCoordinate capacity development workshops for researchers and academic staffIntegrated reporting on various sub–programmes that the incumbent will be responsible for Desired Experience & Qualification Degree or any relevant qualification (NQF 7) in Business Administration, Project Management, Public Management and Governance or equivalent, but a Postgraduate Degree in Business Administration or Project Management or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.Three (3) to five (5) years’ proven working experience in Research Administration.Three (3) to five (5) years’ proven working experience in grant management, such as NRF systems, Wellcome Trust, and MRC.Proven project and stakeholder management skills Recommendations: Strong experience in the Higher Education Sector and the National System of InnovationMust be proficient with Computer Literacy Good report writing skillsGood presentation skills Competencies and Behavioural Attributes: A team player with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsMust be self-motivated and be able to complete projects without direct supervisionProject management skills and stakeholder management Enquiries: Enquiries regarding the job content: Ms. Nthabiseng Nhlapo at Tel: (011) 559 4555Enquiries regarding remuneration & benefits: Mr Innocent Masoka (HCM Business Partner) at Tel: (011) 559 1531
