Duties & Responsibilities
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and specifications. Assemble, install, maintain, and dismantle mechanical equipment and machinery. Fit, align, and adjust mechanical components to ensure optimal performance. Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment. Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs. Replace bearings, shafts, seals, gears, valves, and other mechanical components. Conduct shaft, pump, and coupling alignments. Perform lubrication and routine equipment inspections. Assist with equipment installation, testing, and commissioning. Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment defects. Adhere to company procedures, quality standards, and health and safety requirements at all times.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualified Mechanical Fitter with a recognised trade qualification. Previous experience in mechanical fitting and maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering and mechanical drawings. Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment, maintenance practices, and fault-finding techniques. Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good understanding of workplace health and safety standards
