Introduction We are seeking experienced PTI Container Technicians / Reefer PTI Inspectors to conduct Pre-Trip Inspections (PTI) on refrigerated containers prior to dispatch.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring refrigeration units are fully operational, temperatures are accurately set according to cargo specifications, and all inspections are completed in line with operational and client standards.
Incorrect temperature settings can result in cargo spoilage and substantial financial losses; therefore, accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
Duties & Responsibilities Conduct PTI inspections on reefer containers
Set and verify correct cargo temperatures Inspect refrigeration units and identify faults or damages Complete PTI reports and inspection documentation accurately Ensure containers meet dispatch requirements Escalate technical faults and operational concerns immediately Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric Minimum 2–3 years’ experience with reefer containers or refrigeration systems Experience within container depots, logistics, shipping, or port operations advantageous Knowledge of Carrier, Thermo King, Star Cool, or Daikin reefer units advantageous Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work shifts and overtime when required Medically fit for operational environment
