Introduction Our client, an industry leader in the mining sector, is looking for a Project Procurement Specialist to join their team in Rosebank for a 12 month contract (renewable).
The Project Procurement Specialist will be expected to plan for and manage the execution of capital project related procurement activities, in accordance with relevant Group and Business Unit Supply Chain strategies, policies, procedures, standards, work processed and current best practices.
Duties & Responsibilities Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop procurement strategies and management plans, as well as procurement operating plans (POP) to support the execution of expansion, replacement, stay-in-business, housing, infrastructure and social performance projects. Ensure alignment of procurement strategies through consultation with the Group and Business Unit category managers, operations/site supply chain managers, local supplier development officers and other stakeholders Identify prospective suppliers (and prepare supplier development plans where necessary); ensure preferential procurement objectives are achieved Prepare, issue and adjudicate tenders; compile tender evaluations, adjudications, and recommendation reports (TEAR); ensure activities are completed within agreed timeframes and in accordance with project schedules Prepare contract documents; administer executed contracts to close out Review and approve supporting documentation such as Single Source Motivations Facilitate approval of TEARs, contracts, purchase orders Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures Identify and plan for required procurement resources, manage performance of direct reports and indirect procurement resources employed through consultants Prepare all required reporting Identify and capture savings in accordance with prevailing policies
Desired Experience & Qualification REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree, preferably in business and/or engineering disciplines.
Alternatively, a Diploma in Purchasing / Advanced certificate in Purchasing Management / Financial / commercial degree PMP advantageous At least 5 years’ experience in capital projects procurement, of which at least two are as a Procurement Specialist Mining experience is preferred Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (non-negotiable) Intermediate competency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP (experience on Ariba is highly desirable) Own reliable vehicle and Valid driver’s licence code 08 Own laptop Understanding of basic project management principles
