Introduction We are currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement & Contract Manager. This is a key role responsible for managing the full tender and procurement lifecycle, from prequalification through to contract signing, while ensuring strong governance, transparency and compliance with the organisation's Socio-Economic Development (SED) obligations. The role also carries direct accountability for fleet management and stock control, including leadership of the team responsible for these functions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the entire tender process, from prequalification to contract signing Manage the procurement process in line with the Levels of Authority and company policy, ensuring good corporate governance and transparency Establish and maintain procedures to ensure purchased goods meet predefined technical and safety standards Ensure and manage compliance with SED requirements in terms of the Operating Contract, and collate SED reporting Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and stakeholders Ensure that tender terms and conditions are correctly incorporated into purchase contracts Manage and coordinate SED requirements with subcontractors, including monthly SED reporting and monitoring against the Penalty regime Provide guidance to subordinates and ensure departmental objectives are achieved Conduct periodic reviews of the procurement process and drive continuous improvement Manage sourcing and control of uniforms, consumables, branding/marketing goods and bulk purchases Manage fleet control activities, advise on fleet strategy (lease vs buy) and ensure appropriate insurance cover Prepare and manage budgets for stock and fleet units Lead and manage the team responsible for fleet and stock control Ensure vendor management is performed in compliance with organisational policy
Desired Experience & Qualification
BCom in Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain & Operations Management, or a related Bachelor's Degree in Commerce / Business Administration 5 years' working experience in a similar role at managerial level Proven experience in fleet management and stock control Experience managing a team within a fleet and/or stock control function Project management and change management skills Coaching and mentoring skills Strong communication, presentation and listening skills Valid Code B driver's licence with experienced driving MS Excel (Intermediate) and PowerPoint (Advanced) Fluent in English
