Introduction We are seeking an experienced PLM Business Consultant to join a remote project team for a 12-month engagement. While experience with Centric C8 PLM is beneficial, the core requirement is strong PLM business consulting expertise, particularly in product formulation and translating business needs into PLM functionality.
You will work directly with clients to assess problematic situations, gather and analyze business/IT/data processes, configure solutions, manage implementation projects, and train end users — all within a PLM context.
Duties & Responsibilities
Meet with assigned clients and perform initial assessments of problematic business situations Collect information about clients’ business processes, IT landscapes, and data usage via process analyses, interviews, surveys, reports, RFIs, etc. Analyze and interpret processes and data to uncover weaknesses, root causes, and improvement opportunities Formulate and document recommendations, configuring C8 (or equivalent PLM solution) with attention to client needs, system capabilities, and budget limits — ensuring clear documentation for project success and referenceable customers Present solution findings and suggestions to clients with justification, practical advice, and actionable recommendations Train customers on the PLM solution according to standard training offerings throughout project phases Organize and execute assigned PLM software implementation projects (preferably Centric C8) based on client requirements and SOW scope Develop detailed implementation and communication plans including timelines, budget, resources, and progress tracking for both small and large PLM change initiatives Assist clients in implementing the plan and resolve occasional discrepancies (change management / project management) Provide guidance based on experience and best practices for any issues, problems, or planning dependencies (conflict management / project management) Maintain quality standards regarding methodologies, documentation, progress tracking, and project administration using internal systems Coach others and share experiences and knowledge
Desired Experience & Qualification
