Introduction The Maintenance technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of production equipment to minimize downtime and support production targets.
Duties & Responsibilities ▪ Plant equipment maintenance as directed by the Factory Manager/Supervisor ▪ Sets up and operates all production machines daily and/or as when required ▪ Ensures the safe use of production equipment and performs online maintenance daily ▪ Checks operator production output according to the capacity of each machine (production line) and rectifies accordingly ▪ Ensures quality maintenance standards and procedures are adhered to ▪ Trains operators on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures ▪ Ensure that the safety guidelines and company standards are followed ▪ Maintains good housekeeping standards in factory & workshop ▪ Reports daily machine performance to the Factory Manager ▪ Reports on any unsafe work conditions to the Factory Manager
Desired Experience & Qualification ▪ Grade 12 ▪ Minimum apprentice trained artisan (Fitter & Turner) ▪ Minimum Fitter & Turner/Millwright Trade Test qualification with electrical/electronic experience ▪ 1-4 years post qualifying experience in FMCG production environment ▪ Production Supervisory and/or maintenance experience ▪ Experience in Pneumatics and Hydraulics ▪ Basic experience in PLCs, electrical & electronics ▪ Experience in maintenance of plant utilities (compressors, generators etc)
