Junior Sales Representative - Western Cape

Position Overview

Our client is looking for an energetic and motivated Junior Sales Representative to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will focus on developing and maintaining relationships with smaller customers, identifying new business opportunities and growing sales within the assigned territory.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior sales professional looking to build a career in B2B and technical sales. Previous experience within the adhesive industry would be advantageous but is not essential, as product training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers. Identify and pursue new business opportunities. Grow the company's customer base within the assigned territory. Conduct customer visits and product presentations. Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products. Follow up on leads, quotations and sales opportunities. Achieve agreed monthly and annual sales targets. Maintain accurate customer and sales records. Monitor competitor activity and market opportunities. Work closely with internal sales, technical and operations teams. Provide excellent customer service and after-sales support. Develop relationships with smaller customers and identify opportunities to increase their spend.

 

Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12 essential. Previous sales or customer-facing experience preferred. 1–3 years' experience in sales, internal sales, customer service or a similar environment. Afrikaans and English communication skills. Valid driver's licence. Own reliable vehicle. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confident and professional telephone manner. Self-motivated and target-driven. Comfortable with cold calling and business development. Good administration and computer skills.

 

Advantageous Experience

Experience within any of the following industries would be advantageous:

Adhesives Manufacturing Chemicals Packaging Hardware Construction products Industrial products Building materials

 

Adhesive industry experience is advantageous but not a prerequisite.

Remuneration

Basic salary: R12,000 – R15,000 per month, depending on experience Commission: Additional performance-based earning potential
