Introduction Our client based in CT (BELLVILLE) is looking to employ an Intermediate Java Developer.
12 month contract.
Duties & Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced Intermediate / Senior Java Developer to join a high-performing Agile software engineering team.
The role focuses on designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions within a distributed computing and microservices environment.
The successful candidate will contribute to backend architecture, development standards, and delivery excellence while also supporting and mentoring junior developers within the team.
1. Development & Design
Design and develop scalable software solutions using Java-based technologies Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions Assist in the creation of technical specifications where required Produce clear and maintainable system and technical documentation
2. Testing & Analysis
Perform unit testing of all developed code Conduct impact analysis for system changes and enhancements Support release and deployment management processes Ensure code quality and adherence to development standards
3. Stakeholder & Team Support
Participate in Agile Scrum teams and ceremonies Provide technical support throughout the software delivery lifecycle Coach and mentor junior and intermediate developers Collaborate across teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes
Desired Experience & Qualification MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Matric (Grade 12) Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field Java certification (e.g. Oracle Certified Java Programmer/Developer) AWS certification and/or experience Minimum 5 years’ software development experience in a distributed computing environment using Java 7+ years overall experience in the IT industry Strong hands-on Java backend development experience Advanced object-oriented programming (OOP) principles Microservices architecture experience Strong REST API design and development experience Spring Framework and Java enterprise technologies SOA, dependency injection, ORM, EJB3, JPA exposure Containerisation experience (Kubernetes / OpenShift) CI/CD pipeline and DevOps principles GitLab version control Apache Camel (advantageous) JBPM (advantageous) Strong Linux experience (advantageous) Agile/Scrum methodology Strong understanding of SDLC Healthcare domain experience
