Introduction Harmony Gold Mine is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IS Supervisor for Contracts & Commercial Management to join our Information Services team. This role is pivotal in supporting, managing, and administering technology spend across products and services corporate-wide. The successful candidate will ensure that all Technology and Information contractual and commercial obligations are rigidly adhered to, while driving cost-effective procurement processes and strong vendor relationships aligned with Harmony's strategic objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
The IS Supervisor will oversee the contract administration functions within the IS department to support operational and strategic compliance. Key responsibilities include: Contract & Spend Management: Supporting, managing, and administering contracts for technology spending on services and products across the organization. Commercial Negotiations: Collaborating with IS management to negotiate commercial terms with vendors (including payment terms, multi-year price protections, termination clauses, maintenance support costs, and SLAs). Vendor & Lifecycle Management: Managing vendor relationships to ensure contractual obligations are met or exceeded in line with Harmony standards; overseeing the lifecycle of IT assets and maintaining the asset register. Process Alignment & Cost Control: Identifying and developing cost-effective Technology and Information procurement processes; establishing control measures, preparing annual budgets, and reporting on value-add achievements. Supervisory Functions: Setting and monitoring performance targets for subordinates, conducting performance appraisals, and ensuring optimal department staffing and development. Liaison & Communication: Acting as a direct link between the Operation, IS, Legal, and Commercial Services departments.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the position: Education: A related Degree or Diploma within the legal, commercial, or information systems field. Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in a related field (specifically Legal and/or Commercial environments). Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of effectively interacting with higher-level management and diverse internal/external stakeholders. Advantageous: Prior experience within Information Technology Legal frameworks.
