Intervention Specialist - Next-Generation Security Operations

About the Opportunity Are you an experienced security professional ready to take the next step in your career?

We are seeking a forward-thinking Intervention Specialist to join a modern, technology-enabled security operations environment. This opportunity is suited to an individual looking to progress beyond traditional security monitoring into a more advanced, intelligence-driven operational environment.

This is not a conventional control-room or call-centre position. The successful candidate will interpret information, assess situations, identify emerging risks, coordinate response teams and make sound decisions under pressure.

The ideal candidate will combine security experience, operational maturity, technology aptitude, emotional intelligence and critical thinking to support effective incident management and help protect people, assets and operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor and interpret live security information using CCTV, GPS tracking, alarm systems and integrated security technologies. Identify emerging threats, assess potential risks and determine appropriate responses. Coordinate and support field response teams during live incidents. Maintain situational awareness by monitoring incident locations, response-team movements, access routes and surrounding risks. Analyse incoming alerts and distinguish genuine threats from false alarms or low-priority events. Communicate clear, concise and timely information to field personnel and relevant stakeholders. Make sound operational decisions within established procedures and escalation protocols. Identify basic technical issues affecting security systems and escalate faults appropriately. Maintain accurate incident logs, digital records and supporting documentation. Complete shift handovers and post-incident reports. Coordinate with emergency services and response teams when required. Remain calm, professional and accountable in high-pressure situations.

Minimum Requirements

Relevant experience in security operations, control-room environments, armed-response dispatch, tactical coordination or similar operational security functions. Valid and verifiable PSiRA registration/accreditation, where applicable to the role. Clean criminal record. Verifiable employment history and strong professional references. Demonstrated reliability, integrity and accountability. Ability to work shifts in a security operations environment.

Armed response and tactical control rooms. Security Operations Centres (SOC). Senior control-room operations or shift leadership. Armed-response dispatch and incident coordination. Cash-in-transit monitoring and control. VIP protection control centres. Mining, logistics and industrial security operations. Data centres, critical infrastructure and high-value asset protection. Corporate security and complex operational environments.

The ideal candidate should have experience with, or demonstrate the aptitude to learn, the following technologies:

CCTV and Video Management Systems (VMS). GPS tracking, geofencing and virtual perimeters. Access-control and alarm-monitoring systems. Integrated security platforms and alarm telemetry. AI-enabled video analytics and security sensors. Two-way radio and dispatch systems. Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) platforms. Digital incident logging, reporting and handover systems.

The candidate does not need to be an IT technician but must be comfortable working with multiple digital systems, identifying basic technical issues and escalating faults appropriately.
