Instrumentation Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to support the reliability and performance of automated production systems in the FMCG sector in Gauteng. This role is for a trade tested Instrumentation Technician with strong instrumentation knowledge and practical experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

 

Duties:

Conduct planned and preventative instrumentation maintenance Attend to breakdowns and identify instrumentation-related faults Calibrate and maintain process measuring and control equipment Troubleshoot sensors, transmitters, control valves and associated devices Assist with PLC and automation fault finding Inspect instrumentation systems and identify potential failures Support commissioning and installation of new instrumentation Assist with process control improvements and equipment upgrades Maintain calibration schedules and technical records Liaise with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime Investigate recurring faults and assist with corrective actions Comply with all applicable safety, quality and housekeeping requirements

 

Minimum Requirements:

Matric Instrumentation Trade Test 3 - 5 Years experience as an Instrumentation Technician in FMCG Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems Experience with PLCs, SCADA or related automation systems Practical fault-finding and calibration experience Ability to interpret instrumentation and electrical drawings Understanding of process control principles Technical abilities
