Reference: DBN003884-SS-1A global pharmaceutical company has a 24 month contract vacancy for an HR Specialist to be responsible for managing the delivery of HR services across the South Africa and Sub-Saharan Affiliate. A key aspect of this role is serving as a liaison between the business and Corporate HR to ensure seamless integration and delivery of HR programs and initiatives. Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Alignment with HR Strategy: Ensure actions and delivery of Practice Areas and Service Centers align with the overall HR strategy and fulfill the business's requirements. Implementation of HR Programs & Data Accuracy: Ensure the effective implementation of all HR programs and services and lead the changes in our information systems such as Workday, leave system, taking accountability for achieving desired HR outcomes, including client satisfaction, HR effectiveness, data accuracy, and strong reporting, strong employee data filing/ archiving. Relationship Management: Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with key HR partners across all Practice Areas and Service Centers. Ensure successful coordination of HR elements to meet business needs, encompass relationship management, leadership, and service delivery commitments, including third parties e.g., Medical Insurance, Recruitment Agencies. HR Representation: Function as the ambassador of the HR organisation, highlighting the available services and resources for the business. Help manage and uphold the collective reputation of the HR organisation. Policy and Procedure Review: Support the review and drafting of policies and procedures to meet business needs and as per country’s law requirements, overseeing documentation for approvals, and managing change communication. Consultative Support: Offer expert consultative and problem-solving services to managers, employees, and other HR functions regarding HR policies and practices Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with all relevant local country laws, regulations, policies, and practices. Maintain rigorous adherence to legal standards and company policies. Payroll Activities Management: Oversee payroll activities for the SASS affiliate, including changes, approvals by key stakeholders, distributor coordination, and third-party management for contractors, and uploads to the payroll platform in coordination with the global payroll team and HR Connect. Employee Life cycle Management: Manage the onboarding of new employees (including job offers, contracts, announcements, training, and requisitions) and the offboarding of departing employees (including system exits, announcements, payroll reconciliation, and asset retrieval). Third-Party Contractor Management: Manage third-party contractors, ensuring alignment with the terms and conditions of the service provider contracts. Internal Communication Management: Draft and support all affiliate internal communications initiatives from announcement of people moves, onboarding, offboarding, days off, policies, changes. Cultural and Social Initiatives: Participate in the local culture team and social committee, orchestrating HR events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Experience with HR systems such as Workday, SAP HR, JDE or others. Required to be proficient in all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality. Good problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and relevant employment laws
