Introduction Our client, a petroleum storage and terminal development company, is looking to hire an HR Manager to join their growing team based in Saldanha Bay, Cape Town. This is forecasted to be a 30 month project-based contract.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labour Law, Business Administration, Psychology or a related discipline. Minimum 8–12 years’ HR experience, preferably on major construction, oil and gas, petrochemical, infrastructure, terminal, tank farm, or heavy industrial projects. Experience working within an Owner’s team, EPC contractor, project management consultant, or large construction environment is highly advantageous. Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation, including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, and related statutory requirements. Proven experience managing labour relations, grievances, disciplinary processes, workforce mobilisation, site-based HR operations, and contractor workforce oversight. Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, including contractors, subcontractors, labour forums, community representatives, and government bodies.
