Introduction We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our Human Resources team on a 4-month contract. The successful candidate will provide administrative support across various HR functions and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day HR operations.
Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including maintaining employee records and documentation Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR filing systems Support onboarding of new employees, including preparation of documentation and coordination of induction Assist with payroll administration by collecting and verifying timesheets and employee data Manage leave records and support time & attendance processes Provide support with employee benefits administration and respond to related queries Assist with recruitment processes, including posting job adverts, screening CVs, and scheduling interviews Assist with training coordination, including scheduling and record keeping Ensure confidentiality of employee information and compliance with HR policies and labour legislation
Minimum Requirements Experience & Qualification:
Grade 12 (Matric) 2–3 years’ experience in an HR support or administrative role Relevant HR Diploma or Degree (advantageous)
Knowledge & Skills:
Basic understanding of South African labour laws (BCEA, LRA, EEA) Strong administrative and organisational skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Experience with HR systems and time & attendance platforms is advantageous
