Introduction A leading Investment firm in Johannesburg is searching for a Qualified CA (SA) for a 6 Month Contract.
The incumbent will be responsible for looking after the finances for the Wealth Platform. The successful candidate must be able to perform the full accounting function as well as have worked in a team and a very deadline-driven environment. Relevant working experience (post articles) in the financial services industry (preferably LISP/Wealth management)
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee financial tasks, including daily processing, financial reporting, and managing accounting functions for Statutory entities including a Mauritian entity. Planning and co-ordination of group reporting and statutory reporting for Wealth Finance team Review and preparation of consolidated reporting for Wealth. Manage interim audit for statutory entities. Perform the annual budgeting process and prepare forecasts that align with strategic goals Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement Collaborate with various departments to provide financial insights that drive decision-making Review roll forwarded financial statements in preparation for year end Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies Financial controls & processes - maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Manage cash and investments processes to ensure optimal shareholder returns and manage capital requirements Tax compliance - complete and submit tax returns (VAT and income tax), review provisional tax and ensuring adherence to relevant tax regulations Adhoc tasks and projects
Desired Experience & Qualification
CA (SA) 5 years relevant working experience (post articles) in the financial services industry (preferably LISP/Wealth management) Good communication and presentation skills Ability to mentor team graduates Knowledge of AccPac, IDU and Qlikview recommended Experience with CaseWare
