Location: Clanwilliam Dam, Western Cape
Salary Bracket: R 120,000.00 – R 140,000.00 CTC per month, depending on qualifications, experience and suitability for the role.

Our client is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to take responsibility for the commercial and contractual management of its specialist drilling, blasting, slope protection and lateral support works package on one of their projects in the Western Cape.
Duties & Responsibilities The role is focused on administering the GCC Conditions of Contract, managing contractual risk, and ensuring accurate and timely management of claims, variations, Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, and commercial reporting. The Contracts Manager will play a key role in protecting the company’s contractual position and ensuring commercial performance is optimised throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with the construction and commercial teams, the successful candidate will ensure that all contractual obligations are met while supporting the successful delivery of the works.

Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration
● Administer the GCC Conditions of Contract.
● Manage contractual correspondence, notices, and records.
● Ensure full contractual compliance across all project activities.
● Identify, assess, and manage contractual risks.
Commercial Management
● Oversee all commercial and contractual aspects of the project.
● Work closely with the Site Quantity Surveyor and commercial team.
● Review valuations, payment applications, and cost reporting.
● Monitor project cash flow, cost performance, and forecasts.
● Support subcontract commercial management and procurement processes.
Claims and Contractual Entitlement
● Prepare and manage variations, claims, and Extension of Time submissions.
● Ensure timely submission of contractual notices.
● Maximise contractual entitlement in line with GCC provisions.
● Support programme-related commercial assessments in coordination with planning resources.
Stakeholder Engagement
● Represent the company in commercial and contractual discussions.
● Liaise with the Client, Engineer, and project stakeholders.
● Support negotiation and resolution of contractual matters.
Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Applicants must hold one of the following:
● BSc Civil Engineering
● BTech Civil Engineering
● National Diploma in Civil Engineering
● Quantity Surveying or Construction Management qualification with relevant experience
Professional Registration (Mandatory)
SACPCMP - Pr.CPM or Pr.CM or
ECSA - Pr.Eng/Pr.Tech/Pr.Techni.Eng
Experience Requirements
● Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil engineering construction.
● Strong experience in contracts management on major infrastructure projects.
● Extensive working knowledge of the GCC Conditions of Contract.
Technical Skills
● CCS Candy / BuildSmart
● Advanced Microsoft Excel
● Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6
● Microsoft Office Suite
