Introduction WBHO Construction - Roads and Earthworks - Cape division, with regional office in Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, specialises in amongst others the construction of roads, water, aerodrome and renewable energy infrastructure in the Western and Eastern Cape.
R&E Cape is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join its team. Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Renewable energy, roads and aerodrome contracts from tender stage, (including design and construct tenders) through to the professional execution and completion of all project deliverables, in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
This is a senior leadership role suited to an individual with a proven track record in the successful management and delivery of complex projects with specific emphasis on design, EPC and renewable energy project management experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
Continuous development of Western Cape Client base Serve as Project Lead during tender process of both conventional as well as design-and-construct tender process. Project manage engineering and estimating teams. Serve as the primary point of coordination on assigned projects, liaising effectively with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders. Administer and manage contracts in accordance with the applicable General Conditions of Contract including the management of variations, claims and associated project risks. Develop and implement comprehensive Project Execution Plans, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, budget allocations, programme milestones, and quality standards. Prepare, maintain, and manage all project documentation, including approvals, reports, and regular progress updates to stakeholders.
Desired Experience & Qualification
BSc Civil Engineering Preference given to candidates with additional qualification such as MBA and or Project management Valid Code 08 Drivers Licence Willingness to travel and work away from home as required by project demands Proficiency in CCS, MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and familiar with AutoCaD and Primavera A minimum of 15 years’ experience in the industry A minimum of 5 years’ site management experience A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector A minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management including design, supervision and management of construction projects with preference to experience in road construction, EPC
