Contracts Manager - Drilling, TMM & Infrastructure

Introduction We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Contracts Manager to oversee complex mining projects involving drilling, trackless mobile machinery (TMM), and critical shaft infrastructure.

Duties & Responsibilities This role requires a unique blend of commercial acumen and deep technical expertise. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of contracts, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and fabrication projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety and engineering excellence in high-pressure mining environments.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Management: Oversee the commercial and operational execution of drilling and TMM contracts, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and SLAs. Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance on projects involving mechanical and electrical engineering, including PLC systems and specialized fabrication. Site Commissioning: Lead on-site commissioning activities to ensure all machinery and systems are fully operational and compliant with client specifications. Specialized Infrastructure: Manage high-stakes projects related to shaft sinking and the development of ventilation shafts. Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, technical teams, and subcontractors, fostering strong professional relationships. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all contract activities strictly adhere to mining health and safety regulations and internal quality standards.

 

Minimum Requirements

Professional Experience: Proven track record as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within the heavy mining sector. Technical Expertise: * Strong background in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Hands-on experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers). Direct experience in Shaft Sinking and Ventilation Shaft projects. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Drilling operations, Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM), and heavy industrial Fabrication. Field Experience: Solid experience in on-site commissioning and managing multidisciplinary teams in active mining environments. Education: Relevant Engineering degree or Higher National Diploma; Project Management certification is highly advantageous.
