Component Engineer -Trim (Automotive) contract

Description Brief Role DescriptionTo ensure the products are engineered to market requirements by designing, developing and testing manufactured components, by adapting and developing company sourced designs to be compatible with the group responsible markets 'environmental conditions and by issuing technical data in line with the correct component engineering level to meet stipulated standards.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:Application of root cause analysis tools, implementation of corrective actions and introduction of preventative measures.The resolution of design related problems on all locally manufactured platformsKeep accurate record of part level and software built in production (Bill of Material)Initiate and drive cost savings on components into productionGood problem solving and communication skills and have to function well within a group environmentCreate and track development and release timing plans; prepare development and release reports.Evaluation and implementation of design changes and material cost saving ideas.Support of suppliers throughout the development and localization phases.Communication and cooperation with relevant clients Group counterparts (Germany, Skoda, Brazil) for projects. Qualification and Experience requirements Degree/Diploma in Polymer Technology/ Mechatronics/ Mechanical Engineering2-3 + years’ experience of Supplier, Quality, Engineering experience on automotive components..Knowledge of both metal, automotive glass, plastics rubber components.
