Business Development & Fuel Sales Executive

Introduction We are hiring a driven salesperson to grow fuel volumes and win new business nationally. This is a hunting role — prospecting, cold-calling, and closing — not an inbound account-management role. Based in Durban, with travel outside KZN where opportunities require it.

Duties & Responsibilities  

Win new bulk customers nationally; assess storage capacity and drawdown needs Quote and negotiate within approved wholesale parameters Coordinate delivery scheduling and credit terms with operations, factoring in distance Win new commercial diesel customers — transporters, fleets, construction, manufacturing, plant hire Grow COC volumes for the site; develop delivered opportunities Quote, negotiate, and convert to sustainable monthly volumes Grow retail and commercial diesel volume, including large fleet customers Build relationships with local businesses, transporters, taxis, and delivery fleets Run promotions/incentives with management to build repeat traffic Maintain a channel- and region-tagged prospect database with volumes and status Weekly updates: new customers, quotations, conversions, lost deals and reasons Track monthly volume/margin targets per channel; monitor competitor pricing Maintain existing accounts across all three channels Coordinate with operations/logistics/admin for reliable delivery and service

Desired Experience & Qualification

B2B sales experience, ideally bulk/wholesale fuel or a comparable high-volume delivered product Fuel, transport, logistics, fleet, or industrial supply background preferred Existing transport/logistics relationships (national or key freight corridors) a strong plus Comfortable pricing across retail, commercial, and wholesale volume tiers Willing to travel outside KZN as needed Valid licence, own vehicle Excel, email, WhatsApp, basic CRM/reporting tools Strong English; other SA languages a plus sales / marketing qualification
