Reference: CPT000085-EvS-1Job Title: Assistant Contract Manager - Housekeeping Location: Gauteng - East Rand Industry: Hospitality & Facilities Management Type: Full-Time / Environment: Service Driven About the Role Our client is looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Assistant Contract Manager with strong people skills and practical experience in Housekeeping and Cleaning Operations within the Hotel and Hospitality sectors to join their team in the East Rand. In this role, you will work closely with the Contract Manager and the hotel's Executive Housekeeper to support daily operational execution, maintain immaculate hotel hygiene standards, and supervise on-site cleaning staff across shifts. Duties & Responsibilities What you’ll be doing
Supervisory Leadership & Team Support: Assist in directing, motivating, and supervising site cleaning teams and room attendants across rotating shifts; coordinate daily shift rosters, manage shift attendance, and conduct on-the-floor operational training. Housekeeper Collaboration & Quality Control: Work closely with the hotel Executive Housekeeper and site management; conduct regular floor and room inspections to ensure hotel-grade hygiene, quality, and turnaround standards are consistently met. Operational Execution & Client Relations: Support the Contract Manager with daily client queries, SLA compliance, and immediate service delivery adjustments. Stock & Resource Management: Assist in monitoring cleaning chemical usage, issuing site consumables, auditing equipment maintenance, and keeping accurate inventory registers. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards, color-coding sanitation protocols, chemical safety (MSDS), and workplace rules.
What you’ll need
Minimum 2–4 years of supervisory or team-lead experience strictly within Housekeeping and Cleaning Services (Hotel, Resort, Lodge, or Hospitality environment). Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to lead floor staff, address operational challenges, and liaise professionally with hotel stakeholders. Industry Knowledge: Good working knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards, cleaning equipment, chemical handling, and room inspection protocols. Shift Availability: Fully available and willing to work flexible shift rosters, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations. Transport: Must have reliable, dependable transport to and from work for scheduled shift handovers in the East Rand. Qualifications: Matric pass; Tertiary qualification in Hospitality, Operations, or Facilities Management is advantageous.
