Duties & Responsibilities Conduct systematic physical surveys of assets across all designated areas of the Complex in accordance with the agreed asset tagging schedule.
• Apply asset tags (barcode, QR, or RFID as specified) to fixed plant, mobile equipment, tools, spares, and other operational assets in line with the project tagging standard.
• Capture asset data using the d.Code mobile application, including asset descriptions, locations, conditions, and photographic evidence where required.
• Verify captured asset data against the project asset register and flag discrepancies, unlabelled assets, or access restrictions to the Team Lead.
• Comply at all times with site safety requirements, including permit-to-work procedures, PPE requirements, and site induction protocols.
• Maintain accurate daily records of assets tagged, areas completed, and any issues encountered.
• Participate in daily team briefings and debriefs with the Team Lead.
• Support quality assurance checks and rework activities where tags are found to be incorrectly applied or asset data requires correction.
• Operate within confined, elevated, or restricted areas as required, subject to relevant safety permits and competency sign-off.
Desired Experience & Qualification Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (essential)
Valid site safety induction certificate or willingness to complete site induction prior to commencement
Minimum 1 year of work experience in a mining, industrial, or construction environment (preferred)
Prior experience in asset management, stocktaking, warehousing, or inventory-related field work will be advantageous
Experience working with handheld mobile devices or data capture tools is an advantage
Knowledge & Skills
• Basic literacy and numeracy sufficient for data capture and verification tasks
• Ability to read and interpret basic equipment labels, asset plates, and location markers
• Competent in the use of smartphones or handheld devices for data entry
• Understanding of, or willingness to be trained on, barcode/QR/RFID tagging principles
• Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and general mine safety practices
