Introduction Role Overview
Our client in the Banking industry is seeking an experienced Acting Chief Financial Officer to provide executive leadership across the finance function during a period of strategic and operational transition. The role requires a seasoned banking finance executive with strong regulatory, prudential, capital, liquidity, financial control and stakeholder management experience.
Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Provide executive leadership and stability across the finance function. Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance management. Oversee prudential and regulatory reporting, including BA returns. Manage capital adequacy, liquidity, treasury oversight and balance sheet matters. Prepare clear reporting for the Board, Exco and Audit Committee. Strengthen financial governance, controls and risk management. Work closely with Risk, Treasury, Compliance, Internal Audit and external audit. Engage effectively with regulators, auditors and other key stakeholders. Support executive decision-making during a complex organisational transition.
Desired Experience & Qualification Essential Experience and Qualifications
CA(SA) or equivalent recognised accounting qualification. 15+ years of banking or financial services experience. Previous CFO, Acting CFO, Deputy CFO, Divisional CFO or senior bank finance leadership experience such as Heads of Finance, Heads of Regulatory Reporting or Finance Executives Strong knowledge of South African banking regulation and SARB prudential requirements. Demonstrated experience in capital management, liquidity management and regulatory reporting. Credible Board, Audit Committee, Exco and regulator engagement experience. A strong governance, controls and financial risk mindset.
