Introduction The main purpose of this position is to contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning, research and community engagement in the Department of Nursing Science. To provide ongoing support to lecturers and students in terms of preparing the skills laboratory prior to a lesson and updating scenarios for every day’s lessons. The incumbent will also assist lecturers with administrative tasks as approved by the Head of Department and also guide students on administrative and technical issues. The candidate will assist with administrative duties as well as community work.
The incumbent will report to the Head of Department.
Desired Experience & Qualification MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Diploma in either Administration or Information Technology (or similar) Minimum Three (2) years of experience working in a skills laboratory environment in a nursing institution Experience must include web design, graphic design and knowledge medical related equipment Ability to set, check and program low and high-fidelity manikins Ability to upload scenarios and program the manikins Ability to assist academic staff in coordination of practical examinations The incumbent must also have expertise in Microsoft Office and Web Design Potential to undertake administrative responsibilities at departmental level. Sound interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage clinical teaching programs Records keeping for work integrated learning Keeping and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the clinical skills laboratory and equipment Coordination and administration of records (hardcopy and softcopy) Compilation of clinical hours in preparation for students’ completion of training Coordinate placement of students and transport to clinical facilities Coordination of clinical work integrated learning formative and summative assessments Excellent speaking, writing and reading skills in English Computer literate in software programs that are relevant for teaching, learning and research i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Report writing, attention to detail, problem solving skills and analytical thinking
